June 10, 2025 — CJI’s Young Professionals Committee (YPC) selected two recipients for its bar prep scholarship for 2025. This scholarship program, sponsored by the CJI YPC, provides a one-time award of $2,500 to a graduating law school student to help defray the costs of bar exam preparation, with preference given to applicants with demonstrated interest in public service.
This year’s awardees, chosen from 29 applicants, are Ella Ihrig and Reya Roussel. Both graduated from law school this past Spring 2025, Ihrig from the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver and Roussel from the University of Colorado Law School. This fall, Ihrig will join the Public Defender's officer in Colorado Springs. Roussel will take a fellowship with the Denver City Attorney's office.
CJI extends its congratulations to both awardees.
